Welcome to the first annual Adventist Technology Summit (ATS), here on the beautiful campus of the Adventist Institute of Technology (IATec)! We are so thankful that you are here with us. The goal of this Summit is to create synergies and craft strategies together, while focusing all of our attention on Mission. Throughout the course of this week, we will hear from denominational leaders in finance, technology, digital evangelism, hybrid ministry, and privacy and security. We will be both encouraged and challenged as we worship and pray together. We will enjoy fellowship while learning from one another, better understanding the tools and solutions in use in other fields. But more than this, we will come together as ONE CHURCH and explore opportunities to collaborate and build synergies together. Scripture tells us in John 17 that Jesus’ final prayer, just before He offered Himself as the ultimate sacrifice, was for His church to be one. Even now, as we work and minister during earth’s waning hours, at the very close of history, we are called to come together, financiers, technologists, and digital strategists, and finish this great work as ONE CHURCH! We hear Christ’s call for us to work together to create synergies, to establish partnerships, to build bridges, and to ultimately unite together in Mission and in Ministry.

It is my earnest prayer that the Lord pours out His Holy Spirit upon our gathering, and that as we come together, we may be inspired and motivated to say “I Will Go” wherever He leads. We understand the enemy wishes to divide and distract us. But may we keep our eyes on Jesus, pressing together more and more each day.

Finally, I would like to express my profound appreciation to the South American Division for being such gracious and benevolent hosts. And especially, we would like to thank our colleagues in ministry here at IATec. Thank you for opening your doors and your hearts to us. Thank you for all you are doing to enable and sustain ministry and mission. My friends, Jesus is coming soon!! May each of us be about our Father’s business!
